Done with red permenant marker and yellow acrylic paint on the back of a wigiboard that was painted white.
There's a lot of things that I don't like about this drawing, mainly the lines and dots on the roses. Also I wish I'd made the leafs bigger overall, and maybe added a few more rose buds. This was mainly just a test project for the design I'm painting on the bottom of my longboard. 56" of beautiful pale birch. Oh la la.
I think I may post a larger, digitaly spruced up version sometime, [as a background?] The only thing edited in this was removing some pencil lines, resizing from the scan and putting that little white border around the whole thing.

Wow, this is great! I like it just the way it is. Plus, I'm impressed with the tools you used. I'd like to try doing a picture with Sharpie and acrylic paint.

In retrospect I really wish I'd done the paint first then topped it off with the marker.
Because the paint was thin I went right overtop of the the marker lines then fixed some edges up a bit. Marker didn't prove to be as water proof as it claimed to be and bled a lot with the paint. Urg.

Skating. I like in southern ontario.. no water for surfing around here, plus I'm scared of water. *cringe*

Hehe, I'm just asking because I learned to surf a couple of weeks ago and it was way fun :)
But so is skating, although I have never skated a longboard...

I can sakte shortboard too, which can be fun, but I've found long boards are so much more fun for just bombing down hills. Had to buy a helmet, which makes me look a bit silly, because you can get going -so fast- sometimes.

Well, it's actauly inspired a lot by a sleeve from someone on IAM.bmezine. I liked the color scheme so much that I e-mailed em and asked if I could draw something based off that style.

I bet you can, I've always wanted to really ride one. I only stood on one for a couple of minutes once and I kept falling of because I leaned into turnes too much like you would on a short board but the longboard wouldn't turn as quickly :D
Fun times...

Good thing you're wearing a helmet though. You don't wanna get hurt!
